Addiction Recovery and Community Support: Choosing the Road Less Traveled
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—I took the one less travelled by,And that has made all the difference.
(from “The Road Not Taken,” Robert Frost, 1915)
Unfortunately for our substance involved friends, the “one less travelled by” is survival and recovery. The majority will die in or due to complication of, their addictions.
It is said that the opposite of addiction is community, but both continued addiction and the path to recovery can be very lonely places. At both The Grace Cafe and the Annex we constantly practice community, both for those in active use and those trying to recover. It is far better, though, to choose that “one less travelled by,” and we want to travel that road with you.
